March 2 is Dr. Seuss' birthday! Here's a great game you can make yourself to celebrate the day!
The Cat in the Hat Toss Game
Supplies Needed:
*1/2 White poster board
*Paper plate
*Red marker or red construction paper
*Glue
*5 balloons
*Funnel
*Approximately 5 cups of rice
*Postal tape
Directions:
1. On a half a sheet of poster board make approximately 5 stripes with either a red marker or construction paper (as shown in picture). If using construction paper glue the strips down.
2. Once the stripes are on, tape the ends of the poster board together making it look like a tube.
3. Take your paper plate and cut out the center to make the brim of the hat. Tape the paper plate in place.
4. With a funnel, fill each balloon with approximately one cup of rice and tie the balloon.
5. Have fun tossing your balloons into the hat!
