Heart-Shaped Bird Feeder

Supplies needed:
This recipe makes 1 large OR
2 med/small size ornaments
-3/4 c. birdseed
-1 small packet of Knox gelatin
-Twine, raffia or wire for hanger (avoid bright colored ribbon, because it scares the birds away)
-heart shaped cookie cutter, or silicone mold
-1/4 c. water

Instructions:
1. Dissolve a packet of Knox gelatin in 1/4 cup of water, bring to simmer and stir until dissolved. Let cool slightly.
2. Add 3/4 cup birdseed and mix very well until seeds are coated. If you have excess liquid, add a few more seeds.
3. Spoon the seeds into a mold/cutter, filling it half way up, and pressing down to make sure it is well packed.
4. Lay tied twine on top of the pressed seeds, and fill up the rest of the way so the tied twine end is fully covered.
5. Place in the freezer for 2-3 hours. This makes it easier to remove from the mold or cookie cutter.
6. Let it dry out for 2-3 few days. You may want to flip it halfway through so it dries out completely on both sides.
7. Once it is really hard and dry it is ready to be hung outside.
